Singer/songwriter/guitarist, Angela became involved in the New Zealand music industry as a Folk artist in the early '90's. Her debut album, “Takin' a Chance”, (1990) was nominated for the Folk Album of the Year by the NZMA. She has since released 3 solo albums; “Deceptive Love” (1994) and “Arrow” (2001), albums of original music, and “Floral Rites”, recorded in Scotland under the auspices of the Millennium Forest for Scotland Trust.
“Floral Rites” was a collection of traditional Scottish Folk songs working with close harmony as a largely vocal work. The CD accompanied a show presenting research into Scottish plant, wood and folk lore, and was performed regularly throughout Britain while Angela lived in Scotland, gaining her a fellowship of the Millennium Commission.
Angela worked with the Scottish Society for Autism for 3 years using music as therapy and developed songwriting workshops for offenders. Angela also worked for the East Kilbride Arts Council running a weekly session in Harmony for Traditional Scottish Song, and school holiday sessions in various arts. She worked closely with Edinburgh and Glasgow Songwriting Clubs and became a founder/member of the Lanark Songwriters.
Recently living in Australia, Angela performed to the accompaniment of guitarist/vocalist Danny Rose in “Rosenfox” a swing duo with a floating membership of up to 8 musicians. With pianist/vocalist Bernard O'Scanaill she duets on guitar, Angela performed a variety of styles under the name “Mood 2”. With sister Amanda, as “Foxfix”, Angela took up the backing vocals and second guitar, performing Amanda's outstanding original music, and working in close harmony.
Angela performs her own material when the mood takes her, in her new home in New Zealand, and she is now exploring the world of art, selling her whimsical works both in New Zealand and abroad. Angela is currently living and studying art in Auckland.
